In their native habitat, the falling foliage of evergreens and other plants provides a steady supply of nutrients. In our gardens, however, it is up to us to provide their food. In addition to nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, magnesium is of paramount importance. Its deficiency can be recognised by the yellow or brown colour of the leaves/needles, in addition to poor growth. Discolouration progresses from the outside inwards. The browning caused by magnesium deficiency can be stopped, the well-nourished plant can recover and regain its typical colour of the variety. Vitafloora Evergreen and Rhododendron nutrient solution provides all the other nutrients in an ideal composition for evergreens, in addition to the high magnesium content. It can also be used effectively to feed deciduous hedges. The product is characterised by a low salt content and acidic chemistry, which meets the evergreens' need for acidic soil. The nutrient solution is applied together with irrigation water and is therefore also effective in periods of low rainfall.

The rhododendrons are rewarded with a profusion of colourful flowers when treated with Vitaflóra Evergreen and Rhododendron Nutrient Solution, as the unique formulation contains all the nutrients needed for the growth of rhododendrons and azaleas. Nitrogen is essential for healthy growth, in case of a deficiency the plant will hardly grow at all, its leaves are small and fall heavily in August. Phosphorus strengthens the plant's resistance to fungal infections, but in the absence of phosphorus, bud formation is poor. Potassium is essential for flowering and has a positive effect on the plant's water uptake, reducing evaporation and thus increasing drought tolerance and resistance to frost. Its deficiency is indicated by brown spots on the leaves. Magnesium and other microelements (iron, manganese, copper, boron, zinc) are important for healthy growth and flowering.

Use:

Pines, junipers, junipers, yews, various trees and other hedges, rhododendrons and azaleas.

Dosage:

From April to August, it is recommended to apply about 1 dl of nutrient solution per 2 m2 area per month in a minimum of 30 litres of water. If the plant is located in a smaller area, the quantity should be reduced proportionally. Water the area of soil covered by the canopy of the plant. A better effect is obtained if the monthly amount is applied to the plant in several instalments (twice 0,5 dl of nutrient solution per 2 m2 of area mixed with 15 litres of irrigation water).
For rhododendrons and azaleas, feed once a week from the beginning of the growing season until August by adding 3 ml of nutrient solution to 1 litre of irrigation water.

Directions for use:

Do not feed the plants for 2 weeks after transplanting.

Never fertilize a sick plant unless the disease is caused by a nutrient deficiency.

Do not apply nutrient solution if the plant has been damaged by disease or drought (e.g. browning of the foliage of tulips).

The nutrient solution can also be applied as a foliar fertiliser, but plants with waxy leaves are not able to fully absorb the nutrients through the leaves. In the spring, fresh shoots can take up nutrients before the waxy layer develops, but the concentration of the spray should be reduced depending on the sensitivity of the plant. It is advisable to carry out a spray test on one branch before treating the whole plant. Higher rainfall or sprinkler irrigation will thin the wax layer and therefore spraying with the nutrient solution afterwards is very effective. Recommended dose: 0,3-0,5 dl of nutrient solution per 10 litres of spray.

The root system of rhododendrons is located close to the soil surface and is easily damaged, so weeding should be done carefully and solid fertilisers should not be applied.
